Bournemouth now in for QPR’s Southampton loan defender Caulker

Bournemouth have joined the race to sign QPR defender Steven Caulker.

The 24-year-old centre-back is on a season-long at Southampton but could be given permission to leave after remaining largely unused by Ronald Koeman.

It is suggested that QPR are willing to listen to offers for the centre-back who arrived from Cardiff City in the summer of 2014.

Caulker has made just one Premier League start for a total of eight appearances in all competitions for the Saints but is attracting interest from Sunderland with the Cherries now joining them in pursuit of the former Swansea City star.

The Daily Mail suggests that Eddie Howe is determined to strengthen his Bournemouth defence this winter and is seeking a possible permanent deal for Caulker.
