Bournemouth News: Wilson delighted to hit brace in front of family; Daniels hopes win kickstarts campaign

Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson was delighted with his two goals in victory over Huddersfield Town.

Wilson's wife and two children – son Oritse and daughter Orlagh – were among the crowd as he scored his first Premier League goals since recovering from a second serious knee injury.

Asked what had inspired him during his rehab, the 25-year-old told the Daily Echo: “Family. I have two kids, a girl and a boy, and that is why I play football, for them.

“When you are having your hard times and you feel like giving up, they are the reason you don't."

He added: “The little man asked for four goals and I should have got the fourth at the end!

“I should have given him what he asked for.

“But I was just delighted we got the three points, we have back-to-back wins and the boys kept a clean sheet."

Meanwhile, Charlie Daniels hopes their win over Huddersfield kickstarts their season.

Daniels, one of three players to have started every game in the Premier League this season, hopes Cherries have turned a corner following their poor opening to the campaign.

“We knew the start wasn't good enough," said the 31-year-old. “We have looked at every aspect of what happened and why it happened and have acted on it.

“I feel we are a much better team than we were at the start of the season. But there is still a long way to go.

“We have won three in four and are on a good run of form. Hopefully, it continues at Swansea because we know that is going to be another tough test.

“They are near the bottom and are fighting for their lives. We know we are going to have to stand up and be counted, like we did in the first half against Huddersfield.

“We weren't at our best but we didn't concede. We grabbed a couple of goals and built on it."
