Bournemouth News: Howe hails Fraser; Cook puts hand up for Austin equaliser

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe was delighted with Ryan Fraser's performance for their 1-1 draw with Southampton.

Fraser had the Cherries a goal ahead before it was canceled out by Charlie Austin.

Howe said: "We went all out to win, that's always how I've managed.

"We have had three games in a week and we were disappointed with Wednesday. I gave other people an opportunity and thought they were great.

"I'm one of Ryan Fraser's biggest fans he has huge ability. For whatever reason he's had a stuttering start to the season, today was a sign of him returning to form.

"A lot of our goals last season, Ryan was behind them, so that's encouraging, and I can't speak highly enough of him."

Meanwhile, Lewis Cook says he was at fault for Austin's equaliser.

Cook told the Daily Echo: "Maybe I should have just cleared it for the goal but I will move on and focus on the next game.

"You know when you've done wrong. It's all a learning curve. You have to learn from the negatives and then put them to one side.

"Games are coming thick and fast so we will move on to the next one."

Reflecting more generally on his performance as well as that of his team, Cook added: "I thought I did all right. In the first half I tried to get on the ball and dictate play and in the second half I thought I did all right.

"We had a 1-0 lead and ended up with a 1-1 draw but they were a good side and it was a good battle.

"We will take the point and move on to the next game."
