Bournemouth News: Howe excited by Mousset potential; Mings setback

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is pleased with the progress of Lys Mousset.

The France under-21 international ended an 18-month wait for his first goal in a Cherries shirt when he lashed home during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Wigan in the FA Cup.

Howe told the Daily Echo: "Lys is a talented kid and is only going to get better.

“He is a brave player and is not afraid to try things, experiment and use his talents. Hopefully, from this point he will improve.

“He has a touch of the maverick about him. He is capable of delivering the unexpected and that is one of his strengths.

"He just needs to make sure it is on the right side of experimentation because you don't want a situation where you are unsure what a player is going to do in a negative way.

“He has got to make sure it is positive and I thought in the main against Wigan, he was."

Meanwhile, Cherries defender Tyrone Mings faces another three months on the sidelines.

The 24-year-old has not played since September due to a back problem and has been told to rest before beginning rehabilitation.

Mings, who is on holiday in Dubai, told the Gazette & Herald: “I have a fracture in my back. I'm not sure on a time frame.

"I think I have another three to four weeks of doing nothing, then I will have to start rehab, which will be about eight weeks.

“I'm in a situation where I'm not allowed to do anything, I'm not allowed to do yoga or go to the gym, hence why I am on holiday.

“There are worse things to be be doing but it is frustrating because I just want to be fit."
