Bournemouth midfielder Matt Worthington has signed a one-year extension.

Worthington will now stay until the summer of 2019.

Upon signing his new deal at Vitality Stadium, Worthington told afcb.co.uk: “It's been in the pipeline for a while so it's brilliant to get it over the line and to get cracking with the rest of the season.

“I really enjoyed my time at Yeovil earlier this season and gained a lot of experience. I came back in January and injured the ligaments in my ankle, now I'm getting there with my rehab. My ankle's really good now, it's about strengthening and getting my fitness back.

“The standard of the Premier League is high and training with the first team has helped me a lot, as did going out on loan in League Two where it was a totally different environment and style of play, all were good experiences."
