Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe was left to rue what could have been after Wednesday night's 2-0 loss to Manchester United.
Cherries striker Callum Wilson was seemingly fouled by Luke Shaw when the game was still at 1-0, but referee Graham Scott didn't give the penalty.
"Callum's got goal side and the chance to tap the ball into an empty net," the Cherries boss said. "He's thrown off balance and for me, it's a penalty.
"It was a key moment in the game, with us 1-0 down chasing the game against a top quality team, which isn't easy.
"We had a good spell in the match around that time and on the balance of play, I think we deserved to get back in the game.
"It wasn't given and then they showed their quality on the counter-attack. It's frustrating because there was a lot of good things about our performance today.
"It was much improved from the Liverpool game, but we were unlucky overall."
