Bournemouth keeper Travers signs long term contract

Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers has signed a long term contract with the club.

He is a key member of the under-21 setup at the club. Now he will be hoping to make the step up to the first team.

Bournemouth have high hopes for the player, who has been a part of the under-18 and under-19 teams for the Republic of Ireland.

Travers told the club website: "It's great for me, coming in as a 17-year-old was quite tough and getting settled in early doors.

"I've really enjoyed my time here and to get the new deal is great for me and my family, I'm really looking forward to it.

"As the time progresses I'll try to get ready for the highest place to play.

"I want to have a few more successful loan periods, keep training hard in front of the first-team manager, keep improving as a player and work hard in the gym off the pitch to improve my strength."
