Bournemouth fullback Smith happy for Kane over Spurs success

Bournemouth fullback Adam Smith is happy for former Tottenham teammate Harry Kane over his success.

Comparing the Kane he played alongside coming through the ranks in north London to the man who now seems the standout choice for England captain in a World Cup season, Smith has no doubt it is Kane's hard work and determination that has got him there.

“When he was younger he wasn't as physical or quick but his finishing was always there," Smith told the London Evening Standard.

“I don't think anyone expected him to hit the heights that he has done, as in captaining England, but his finishing was always up there – top draw – and I think as he's got older he's physically got better, he must have worked hard in the gym as well.

“It's nice to see a Tottenham boy doing so well."
