Bournemouth finish should push Cherries players into England squad

Charlie Daniels believes that Bournemouth's fine Premier League campaign will pave the way for the Cherries' players to earn a place in the England national team.

Bournemouth managed a wonderful 9th placed finish in the Premier League last season and most of the Cherries' strong core of English players all managed to impress in some form throughout the course of the campaign.

And Daniels has been left very pleased with Bournemouth's efforts last term and believes that the club's top half finish in the Premier League should help the numerous English players in the squad earn a call-up for the national team.

He told the Daily Echo: "Finishing where we did in the league should help our players' chances with England – but you never know what goes on in the background.

"Whoever has contributed to our team but been overlooked internationally... it was not their fault. Everybody has worked exceptionally hard and performed to an extremely high level.

"If anybody's form is recognised by them being called up for the national squad, then it will be a great thing, not only for them personally but the club as well.

"Having more international players in our changing room would be a big thing and, hopefully, we will have some picked."
