Bournemouth have entered talks with Brentford over Chris Mepham.
The centre-back represents a long-term target for the Cherries, who failed with a £10m in the summer.
Mepham has been sidelined since December 22 with an ankle injury.
Southampton are also reportedly interested in the Wales international.
