League OneAFC Bournemouth has announced that Energy Consulting Group will be its shirt sponsor for the next three years, reports SportsPro. The deal, effective from 1st July, will see the company's logo feature on the front of all three of the club's playing strips, the new designs for which were released alongside the sponsorship announcement.
Although financial terms of the deal were not released, the club said in a statement that the group is making a 'substantial financial investment'.
According to the statement, the club requested that its current shirt sponsor, Focal Point Fires Plc, agree to terminate its contract two years early 'in order to facilitate the financial injection from the EC Group'.
AFC Bournemouth commercial director Rob Mitchell said: "The club is very grateful to Focal Point Fires for the support they have shown the club over the years. We appreciate the understanding and assistance which the board of directors of Focal Point Fires has shown in enabling the club to take advantage of the investment opportunity provided by the EC Group, which we are sure, will be to the long term benefit of the club, its staff, supporters and stakeholders."
