Bournemouth defender Cook: We targeted Karius as Liverpool weakness

AFC Bournemouth's Steve Cook has revealed he and his teammates targeted Loris Karius on Sunday.

The Cherries produced a memorable comeback to beat the Reds 4-3 at the Vitality Stadium having trailed 3-1 as late as the 76th minute.

Defender Cook scored a lovely goal to make it 3-3 before his late effort was parried by Karius into the path of Nathan Aké for the injury-time winner.

German gloveman Karius was the subject of plenty of criticism for his performance and Cook has since admitted that Bournemouth went after his uncertainty during the clash.

"I've got to be honest, we did," he said on talkSPORT.

"We felt he was under a lot of pressure, obviously playing for Liverpool you've got to be a very strong character.

"We did target him, we tried to pressure him and get as many shots at him possible.

"Obviously we didn't get that many shots off in the game, but we did target him as a weakness in the Liverpool side."
