Bournemouth are chasing Sporting Gijon defender Bernardo.

The 26 year-old Colombian fullback comes off contract and has been contacted by the Cherries about a Bosman move.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe is confident of getting a deal over the line, with negotiations now at an advanced stage with Bernardo's minders.

An agreement could be struck before the end of the month.

Bournemouth also made an attempt for Sporting teammate, Luis Hernandez, but he has agreed a Bosman deal with Leicester City.
