Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe was delighted for Jack Simpson after his goal in their Carabao Cup win over Middlesbrough.
It marked the defender's first goal in senior football.
Howe remarked afterwards: "Take the goal aside, which was a nice moment for him, I thought his overall performance was very good. He's very composed on the ball – that's one of the first things that struck me about him as a player.
"He hasn't been a defender for that long, as we've converted him from a midfielder so it's been a gradual process. We're delighted with how he's progressing, he's got a good mentality and he wasn't fazed tonight. I think that's a really compliment to him at this stage in his career.
"I think he did very well and he doesn't look out of place with the company that he's playing in."
