Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra says it is vital that inspirational captain David Weir plays again for the club next season.
The veteran centre-half turned 41 earlier this month but that didn't stop him from guiding 'Gers to a third straight Scottish Premier League title and now his defensive partner Bougherra has urged him to stick around for another shot at it before he turns his hand to management.
"I know Davie is very interested in coaching and will one day become a manager," the Algerian international said.
"When that time comes I think he will be a fantastic manager but I think he can easily play on for another year, easily.
"I would like to see Davie playing on at Rangers for another season and hopefully something can be agreed now the manager has returned to work.
"Davie is at a crossroads. He has a difficult decision.
"It is his decision to whether to stop playing and start managing or whether to play on with Rangers.
"He could, of course, play on with another club.
"But I would be happy if he returned to Rangers for another season and I am sure everybody at the club would be as well."
