Madjid Bougherra has indicated that he would like to return to Rangers if the opportunity arose.
The 31-year old Algerian defender has departed Qatari outfit Lekhwiya after spending the past three years there and is on the lookout for a new club.
Bougherra, who is expected to make Algeria's World Cup squad this summer, won three Scottish Premier League titles in three seasons at Ibrox between 2008 and 2011 and has admitted to be pondering a possible return to Glasgow.
"I always said I would want to finish my career in Glasgow with Rangers," Bougherra said.
"The question would be whether that is immediately or maybe in a few years' time.
"I have now left Lekhwiya and am in advanced discussions with another club in Qatar and there are clubs in Britain interested too."
