Jay Bothroyd isn't bothered by the arrival at QPR of Loic Remy.
The striker feels he'll get a fresh chance under manager Harry Redknapp.
He told London Evening Standard: "Everyone knows that Harry is a very honest and fair man. He hasn't closed the door to anyone. He said to me, 'Keep your head down work hard, everyone knows you have the ability, you have to show it'.
"This was the opportunity I wanted and that's all you can hope for.
"Obviously I want to be here and stay with QPR. I want to help the club. I'm determined to be here, to work hard for my spot.
"If the club sign another striker, I will welcome the competition and look to prove a point. From the day I was at Arsenal there has always been competition. It is down to me to work just as hard to keep the shirt.
"I don't want to make any excuses, for one reason or another things didn't work out for me before now.
"However, since I have been back it is clear everyone has a clean slate.
"If you can impress the manager, then he will give you an opportunity."
