Botafogo remain confident of prising Ronaldinho away from AC Milan.
The Brazilian giants are serious about their bid for the former World Player of the Year and have been in negotiations with his brother and agent, Roberto de Assis.
"Assis received our proposal and was satisfied," said the president of Botafogo, Marico Asunçao. "I think there are good chances.
"Botafogo has made an official offer which is consistent, ambitious and advanced. And it's all in black and white and there are no assumptions.
"For now, the proposal is postponed, but investors are ready to put the money in, in case we accidentally need extra support."
