Botafogo chief Sidnei Loureiro has confirmed talks with Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz.
Santa Cruz, on-loan at Malaga this season, will see his City contract expire in June.
Loureiro says negotiations have opened with the Paraguay international's camp about a move to Brazil.
