Boss Hughes deciding factor in Duffy joining Hibernian

Hibernian's new loan signing Darryl Duffy played with manager John Hughes while at Falkirk and had no hesitation in linking up gain. The 26-year-old managed 30 goals in two years before moving to Hull City and the Scottish striker is looking forward to playing for Hughes once more.

"I was very happy to get everything sorted before the transfer deadline started rearing its ugly head," he told skysports.com.

"I've done last minute transfers before and they are very chaotic, so to have everything in place in advance was brilliant.

"It is a big club to move to and I am really looking forward to getting stuck into things.

"I've obviously worked with John Hughes before, so he knows what I can bring to the table and I know how he likes to run a football club.

"Hopefully, we can recreate some of the success that we had at Falkirk together."

Duffy was anxious to leave Bristol Rovers after falling down the pecking order at the Memorial Stadium.

"There was interest from quite a few clubs in England, but once I knew Yogi (Hughes) was interested in taking me to Hibs it was a very easy decision for me to make," he added.

"I know exactly how he likes his sides to play the game and that suits me down to the ground.

"It was an important move for me this one because I needed to make sure I was going to a club that would suit my playing style and I knew that joining up with Yogi again would tick all the right boxes for me."
