Mark Bosnich is keen to prove he still has it when he steps out again in a charity match in December. Bosnich recently completed a stint with the Central Coast Mariners in the A-League and is taking the festival match as a chance to showcase his skills for prospective clubs.
The opportunity to pay against old teammate David Beckham is also tantalising for the former Manchester United, Aston Villa and Chelsea shot-stopper.
In an interview with the Herald on Sunday, Bosnich spoke openly about how he wants to prove to himself he can still play at the top level after such a long time out of the game.
"I had a massive hiatus, about six years, which is a very long time," Bosnich said.
"I didn't like the way I finished everything off, basically.
"I thought, not only do I owe it to my family and my fans but I owe it to myself.
"Number one, to see if I could do it again and number two, to give myself a purpose.
"When you haven't got a purpose in life it becomes very, very difficult."
Bosnich will be a part of the Oceania All-Stars team to take on the LA Galaxy at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday December 6.
