Former Aston Villa and Australian goalkeeper Mark Bosnich believes that Tim Sherwood's best option in the summer is to sell Belgian striker Christian Benteke for the best price possible.

Benteke has made it clear that he wants to be playing European football next season, which has left Villa manager Sherwood with a difficult situation to deal with.

Bosnich has stated that Sherwood should be willing to sell Benteke for the right price.

"Once a player comes out and says publicly that he wants to go to another club, there's no real use having him there - I think the thing for Villa is to get the best price possible for him and then to use that money wisely to get other players," he said.

The 24-year old Villa striker has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League sides Chelsea and Liverpool.
