Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has invited controversy with his native Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Begovic has seized his chance, playing five matches in succession with his rival Thomas Sorensen on the bench for the last two games.
Bosnia-Herzegovina manager Safet Susic believes that scenario influenced Begovic in his decision to skip yesterday's midweek friendly against Slovakia.
"For me it is incomprehensible that someone doesn't want to answer my call, even if he knows that he could play," Susic told newspaper Dnevni Avaz.
"Yes, I now know who will be my goalkeeper for the next game against Romania. Begovic helped me with his action to find a solution.
"But on the whole this is just unfair - from his part and also from his club.
"And yes, we will be calling for sanctions against Begovic and Stoke City.
"There is not any player in this world that his club can prevent him to play for his national team."
