Borussia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has confirmed chief scout Sven Mislintat is leaving for Arsenal.
Zorc concedes they couldn't block Mislintat from the move due to the offer tabled by the Gunners.
"Sven was my close employee for ten years and that is how a close relationship of trust developed," said Zorc. "He has done an excellent job and we have taken this into account.
"When Sven said he wanted to accept the extraordinary offer a few weeks ago, we said we would not take this opportunity away from him."
BVB GM Hans-Joachim Watzke added: "Sven has led a team with excellent employees for many years. He has done that excellently. I thank him, personally, for the cooperation. Everyone of BVB wishes Sven all the best for his future."
Meanwhile, Mislintat stated: "My thanks go to my bosses, because Aki Watzke and Michael Zorc have always stood behind me. I was born and raised here and have worked for the club since 2007, I am a Borusse in heart and soul. And I will always stay that way."
