Borussia Dortmund are keeping close tabs on Henrikh Mkhitaryan's situation at Manchester United.
The Armenian has been missing for the past two United games.
In his last seven appearances for Manchester United in all competitions, Mkhitaryan has failed to score or register an assist.
BBC Sport reports Mkhitaryan's former club Dortmund have indicated they would be interested in re-signing him.
United paid the Bundesliga club £26.3m for their No.22 in July 2016.
Dortmund have a history of buying back big-name players, and did the same with Shinji Kagawa at United in 2014.
