Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller has spoken of his clash with Mario Balotelli during the Manchester City striker's successful spotkick last night.

Weidenfeller, who had been playing a game of 'anything you can do, I can do better' with Joe Hart all night, stepped forward and attempted to psyche out Balotelli.

"I whispered in his ear," Weidenfeller told Blick.

"He is a smart dog who couldn't be influenced by me."
