Borussia Dortmund insists everything is above-board over recalling Jadon Sancho from England's U17 World Cup campaign.
Sancho was called back this week after taking part in the group phase, angering the FA and England coaching staff.
However, BILD says there was always an agreement between all parties that the former Manchester City prospect would only compete in the group games before returning to Germany.
England U17 coach Steve Cooper snapped: "I can only imagine that Dortmund wanted him back, so he plays in the first team at the weekend and assumes that he will start from the beginning.
"Otherwise, I can not imagine why you would take a player away from a World Cup."
