Borussia Dortmund have intensified plans this week to re-sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United.
Mkhitaryan has been made available by United this month after falling out with manager Jose Mourinho.
Ruhr Nachrichten says BVB management are serious about bringing the Armenian back to the Bundesliga and have stepped up negotiations.
And Mkhitaryan has made it clear via intermediaries that he would be happy to return to his old club.
However, there are two major obstacles for BVB to overcome - United's asking price and the midfielder's personal demands.
BVB sold the former Bundesliga Player of the Year to United in 2016 for €42m.
