Borussia Dortmund are ready to step up their pursuit of Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.

Sport 1 says BVB are preparing a bid for the Senegal international, whose at odds with Toon management over his reluctance to be connected to the club's new shirt sponsor, Wonga, on religious grounds.

Cisse has been seen as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski at BVB, but even if the Pole stays, the German giants are expected to push for the striker.
