Borussia Dortmund chief Hans-Joachim Watzke is in the dark over whether Jurgen Klopp is in talks with Liverpool.

Klopp left BVB last summer and is among the favourites for the Reds job.

"I do not know if Jürgen Klopp will become the next Liverpool manager. I first read the news yesterday that Liverpool sacked Brendan Rodgers," said Watzke.

"Jürgen Klopp will have to decide for himself whether he wants to become the next Liverpool manager."

Watzke added: "Honestly, I do not know what he's thinking. I have no advice to give Jürgen Klopp. One thing I can say is that he has a great character. If there is any contact with a major European club, he must decide what he should do."
