Celtic boss Gordon Strachan is relaxed at claims by keeper Artur Boruc that he has no friends at Parkhead. "I don't think that it's a good idea to make friends with people in football. There is no deep relationship between football players," the Poland international reportedly told a Polish magazine.
"I heard that the story was that Artur was a bit of a loner sometimes," Strachan said. "There are people who are like that, who, once training is finished, like their own company.
"What he is saying that he doesn't mingle with the lads after training and I can understand that.
"By the looks of it, he has far better people to mingle with than some of the lads that are here and so I can understand why he wants to down the tools and get out of here as quickly as possible."
However, Strachan was at pains to stress that Boruc's claims did not reflect on the working environment at Celtic.
He said: "Collectively we are very good.
"Lennoxtown is a terrific place to train and it's a great bunch of guys to work with.
"I can't wait to get in here every morning. It's non-stop laughter.
"Occasionally we get serious when we are talking about tactics and things like that but we can enjoy ourselves and learn at the same time."
