Genoa striker Marco Borriello has dedicated his hat-trick against Udinese on Wednesday night to the fans.

"It was all for the fans who are fantastic and today cheered us on from beginning to end once again," he told journalists.

"We really wanted to win the derby against Sampdoria last weekend, but it was a tight game that was difficult to play good football in.

"I feel fit and physically strong and technically I'm happy. Now I have conviction in my abilities.

"This is a very tough tournament and the teams are very equal, but we are a decent side and we just need time to settle. Time to continue down this path."
