New Fiorentina signing Borja Valero is excited about the club's progress.

Valero is impressed with the squad being constructed.

"I knew two weeks ago that there was a chance of coming to Florence. I'm happy to be in Italy and didn't think twice about accepting Fiorentina," he said.

"It's true that with Aquilani and Fernandez we are really starting to form a midfield of great quality. We will do well.

"I am versatile and can take on many different midfield roles, although I do prefer to be more advanced. If I have to express a preference, then I'd say centre-midfield, though I have played on the right and the left."
