Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh has set Arsenal a deadline to close his signing.

The Sunday Express says Chamakh wants his move to Arsenal finalised by the middle of next week - or he could take up another offer.

Bordeaux striker Chamakh is the man Arsenal want to replace the outgoing Emmanuel Adebayor, and a £7million deal has been lined up. But he said: "If it happens with them it's great, otherwise it does not bother me to play for Sunderland or Blackburn."

Bordeaux are interested in Arsenal's Swiss defender Phillipe Senderos, and want to make him part of the Chamakh deal.
