Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud feels it will be difficult for French clubs to sign Newcastle United defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.
Olympique Marseille are attempting to thrash out terms with Newcastle this week for the France international.
But Triaud warned: "This is an excellent player who has a defect: he was bought very expensively by Newcastle and his salary is high."
Yanga-Mbiwa only moved to Newcastle last year from Bordeaux.
