Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has shutdown talk of appointing Zinedine Zidane as new coach.
The Real Madrid No2 was tipped to be confirmed as Bordeaux coach next week.
But Triaud said last night: "We can confirm that we have spoken, but Zidane will not be the coach of Girondins de Bordeaux."
