Bordeaux move to nick Sunu away from Arsenal

Bordeaux are ready to snap up Arsenal striker Gilles Sunu.

The Mirror says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger faces a sickening blow - with the loss of star French striker Gilles Sunu to Bordeaux for a pittance.

The teenage hit-man is unsettled with the Gunners and poised to quit when his contract runs out in the summer and Bordeaux chief Laurent Blanc is keen to snap him up.

Derby County are among several sides who have tried to take Sunu on loan but Wenger will not let him out until he signs a new deal - in case he is spotted by a rival English club.

But now the fear is far greater as Bordeaux can pick up Sunu and not have to pay anything for him apart from low training compensation costs.

Sunu came through the ranks of the youth system in his homeland before coming to Arsenal almost three years ago, but now he may choose to return to his homeland.
