Bordeaux eyeing Lyon's Arsenal, Man City target Gourcuff

French side Bordeaux are looking to swoop in to secure the services of Arsenal and Manchester City target Yoann Gourcuff.

Gourcuff's current contract at Lyon is set to expire at the end of the season and after having been awarded limited playing time on the pitch, it is very unlikely that the midfielder will be renewing his deal at the Stade de Gerland.

With the Frenchman seemingly available on a free transfer next season, Premier League duo Arsenal and City were said to have expressed their interest in securing his services and it has now been revealed that even former club Bordeaux have joined the race.

Gourcuff enjoyed a fruitful spell at the Stade Chaban-Dalmas between 2008 and 2010, and now club owner Nicolas de Tavernost has expressed his desire to bring back their former hero to the Girondins during the upcoming summer.

De Tavernost said: "Gourcuff is a player that we really enjoy in Bordeaux. If he is available late in the season, we will look at it carefully."
