Bordeaux coach Laurent Blanc admits he was flattered to be linked with the vacant assistant manager's job at Manchester United.

"I'm not going to play a hypocrite," he told Ouest France. "Of course, when my name is put forward to coach, one day, Manchester United, I am flattered.

"Am I currently actually capable of doing it? I am not convinced.

"I have to learn my craft.

"Moving to a big foreign club? It is still too early, even if it pleases me.

"I am pragmatic. I won't coach for 20 years. But I want to achieve things at the highest level."
