Bordeaux are battling to sign Leicester City midfielder Nampalys Mendy.

Mendy has declared he wants to join Bordeaux and the French outfit are eager to sign him. However, the Foxes are insisting only on a straight sale.

Bordeaux would prefer to take Mendy on an initial loan, insisting the Foxes' €16m asking price is too rich.

The midfielder only joined Leicester last summer from Nice.
