Nat Borchers has signed a four-year contract extension with Real Salt Lake.
The 29-year old defender has been a revelation for RSL since joining from Norwegian club Odd Grenland in 2008, playing all but one MLS match in three seasons at Rio Tinto Stadium.
Borchers, who helped RSL to the 2009 MLS Cup, said he was always keen to remain with the club when his contract talks opened.
"Before these talks started, I came to the club and told them that I didn't want to play anywhere other than here," he said.
Borchers joins goalkeeper Nick Rimando and midfielder Will Johnson in signing long-term deals with the club.
