Tottenham have been boosted by news that Michael Dawson is back in training.
The 28-year old defender has been sidelined since sustaining an Achilles injury in August and is now on the comeback trail following surgery.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said that the talented Dawson could be back for the FA Cup third round clash with Cheltenham Town on January 7 alongside winger Aaron Lennon who has missed the past two matches with a hamstring problem.
"Michael trained yesterday for the first time and he is going to train this morning, so it is great to see Michael Dawson back out on the training ground.
"He is a fantastic player and a great guy.
"He is not ready to play yet but we are going to get a week's training into him and he is aiming for the FA Cup, which would be great if we could get him fit for that.
"Aaron's coming on well. He is working hard with the rehab.
"He is not ready tomorrow (to face Swansea) but not far away.""It is good news. They are coming back," he told Sky Sports News.
