Wilfried Bony says he treats Manchester City teammate Kelechi Iheanacho like a brother.
The Ivory Coast international indicates he has taken an unspoken mentor role with the 19-year-old Nigerian who continues to grow and develop around the City first team.
After the pair scored in City's Capital One Cup quarter-final win over Hull City on Tuesday, Bony told the Manchester Evening News of the relationship between the attacking pair.
"I see him as my brother, because he has come from Africa like me," he said.
"So I give him lots of advice on how to handle pressure. We have things in common, so I talk to him a lot – he sits close so I see him every day."
Bony added: "It is good for me to push him to do it the right way. He is a striker, so it is always good when he scores. It makes me happy as well."
