Bony admits long-term ambitions beyond Swansea

Wilfried Bony admits he has long-term ambitions beyond Swansea City.

He watched Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in action this last week in the Champions League - and would love to be an active participant, rather than an interested viewer.

"For sure, I want to play in that," Bony told the Mirror.

"I had to be professional about it and just be focused on Swansea," he said.

"If you score goals, always the bigger teams will look at you. What I want to do now is to do better than last season. Yes, one day I would love to play in the Champions League. That is what I am fighting for in my career.

"It is not easy in England. It is a tough league.

"You look at the central defenders - Cahill, Terry, Skrtel, Kolo, Ivanovic … they can destroy in the first contact. You have to be ready for that."

And the future? "I love it here at Swansea," he replied.

"I am always honest with the club and they are always honest with me. If they get the right price for me, I think they will sell. I'm sure the fans will understand."
