Bonner backs Celtic keeper Boruc to be world's No1

Packie Bonner is backing Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc to become the world's best.

The 47-year-old Irishman told the Daily Record: "Artur is up there with the best right now but he has three or four years before he really will be at the top of his career and top of his potential.

"He is well on the way to being the best in the business but it will take a few years. He is a great goalkeeper and a great find for Celtic."

Bonner added: "When you are a top-class keeper or top-class player you will be linked with everybody, that is the nature of the game.

"The press will put him in the spotlight so players get used to that kind of stuff. When you are up there you are a commodity.

"But he will be concentrating on his game and will be back on the training pitch this week enjoying himself and looking to put things right."
