Bolton Wanderers fullback Jlloyd Samuel is bracing himself for a return to Birmingham City next week.

Former Aston Villa defender Samuel has been one of the team's more consistent performers.

"I've never lost my confidence and if you're playing week in, week out you can only build on that and get better," he said. "It was a big boost for the club when Nicolas Anelka decided to stay. He has shown again he can score goals whatever the situation.

"To keep players like that shows we are going places. We've got to try and grind out results. We are not doing that at the moment so we're trying to change that."
