Bolton's Davies has sympathy for Spurs keeper Robinson

After resurrecting his career at Bolton Wanderers, Kevin Davies has offered words of support to Tottenham's struggling goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

He told the Sunday Mirror: "I can particularly understand what Paul Robinson is going through because not so long ago he was England's No.1 goalkeeper and now it looks like he's not even wanted by his club.

"All of these players, and plenty more, will be feeling low, fed up, unsure of themselves, of their futures.

"But there is a way out for all of them. It is about putting one foot in front of the other, making yourself go to training, working harder them you have ever done, relying on friends and family for support.

"Everybody knows that top line players are paid big money these days but money means very little to someone who has been right up there and suddenly discovers he's not wanted any more.

"It can be a shattering experience but it can also be one that in the end makes you stronger, maybe even better.

"I would rather not have gone through what happened to me but I look back now and I feel pride that I responded in the way I did.

"And that's what can happen to Robbo and the rest in the end, too."
