Bolton's Davies happy to survive relegation battle

Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies admits it's a relief that the club remains in the Premiership after last season's trouble.

"You can't even contemplate it really," he said. "I imagine quite a few players would have moved on, like what's happening at Reading.

"I've been here five years and love the club so it wasn't something I ever wanted to really think about until it got to that moment. But we never really believed it was going to happen.

"Any other season we might have gone down but the teams around us weren't picking up points, which kept us in it.

"I'm just glad it's out of the way. From start to finish, it was a strenuous time for everyone involved in the club and not something we want to be involved in again."
