Bolton's Davies: Goals flowing under Megson

Bolton Wanderers striker Kevin Davies believes fans are in for a treat under new manager Gary Megson.

Wanderers bagged their first four-goal haul in 12 months against woeful Wigan at the Reebok last Sunday with Davies chipping in with his first Premier League strike since the final day of last season.

And the former Southampton and Blackburn man doesn't see why he and the team can't profit from the recent encouraging results.

"We've talked about sharing the goals about so it was good myself and Kev (Nolan) scored against Wigan," he said.

"In recent weeks we've steadied the ship and looked more solid. Having done that we feel we can be a bit more adventurous and push more men forward to support Nicolas Anelka."

Bolton have lost just once in their last eight league and cup games.

And while they're still in the wrong half of the table, Davies insisted: "We are moving in the right direction.

"We always know it is important to start the season well and get points on the board.

"We did that last season and qualified for Europe on the back of it.

"This time we are playing catch up. But we are digging ourselves out of it and setting ourselves new targets.

"It's still tight but we are trying our hardest to push ourselves out of it. We are getting there. We are not leaking many goals and hopefully we can score a few more as well.

"With the win against Red Star and the result over Wigan, everything worked out perfectly. That shows what a good squad we've got."
