England boss Fabio Capello has named Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill in his squad.

Cahill has been called up as cover for defensive duo Wes Brown (Manchester United) and John Terry (Chelsea) who have picked up "minor knocks" in training.

While the 23-year-old is not exactly a new face to Capello after being called up for the qualifier in Kazakhstan last June, news that both Brown and Terry have problems will be a worry given England tackle Croatia in a crucial World Cup qualifier on September 9.
